JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

The Mechanical Engineering Intern, with supervision, is responsible for completing tasks that contribute to the development or improvement of Standard / Custom products and/or Accessories. Must possess communication ability, technical expertise, creativity, and internal drive to actively support the creation of designs that are recognized as best- in-class in the hearing aid industry. Must be able to work well in a team environment and have a passion for continuous improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS



  • Conduct mechanical, environmental, and durability testing to assess coating performance
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data; document results in clear engineering reports and summaries
  • Under the guidance of a Mechanical Engineer, use PTC Creo to create new designs complying with the product requirements and objectives.
  • Complete tasks on-time and with acceptable quality


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience



  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field with 3 years completed. Course work or practical experience in CAD, Material testing, Rapid prototyping is highly desired.
  • No previous experience required. Prior internships in Medical device or consumer-electronics industries highly desired.


Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Basic proficiency in PTC Creo preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in MSOffice Standard required.
  • Mechanical and materials testing experience required.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work well with numbers required.
  • Ability to work independently to make decisions and report progress.
  • Personal communication and conduct skills at a professional level.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in fast-paced team environment.


Salary and Other Compensation:

The pay rate for this position is $30 per hour.
