Job Description: The US Deputy Continuing Airworthiness Manager's overall purpose is to ensure the US fleet remains in compliance with company Airworthiness Management policy, and that company policy and procedures fully comply with regional regulatory and client requirements, whilst delivering the highest industry standards at all times. The role will lead the US regional continuing airworthiness team and manage day to day-to-day activities. This purpose includes:
- Coordinating US AOC specific Continuing Airworthiness activity.
- Coordinating all Import and Export activities to and from the US.
- Coordinating Lease Agreements and associated technical documentation.
- Maintaining both US Certificate's FAA Operating Specifications.
- Oversight and quality review of department generated technical manuals to include Maintenance Programs, Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL) and Passenger Briefing Cards.
- Supervising the day-to-day activities of the Technical Records Team, CAMO, and Airworthiness Engineers;
- Administering and controlling selection and rostering of RII personnel;
- Management of Contracted maintenance activity related to the US Fleet
- Oversight of US Technical Records, CAMO and Airworthiness Review Policy and Procedures.
- Weight and Balance management of AOC specific aircraft; and,
- Promoting safety in all areas and ensuring all of the above are managed in line with the Company's core values, ensuring CAMO inputs to the management system and management of risks associated with continuing airworthiness.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working with the global Airworthiness teams to develop efficient global policies, processes, and procedures according to industry best practice, ensuring they remain in line with regulatory requirements and business needs of each region;
- Providing direction to the CAMO Engineer, Airworthiness Engineers and Technical Records Supervisor in relation to the management of day-to-day activity and task priorities.
- Application and documentation for the import/export of aircraft towards the authorities and applicable stakeholders.
- Coordinating with regulatory representatives (either directly or through regional Company representatives) on any activities which require approval to be obtained;
- Acting as a focal point and contact for all technical queries and requirements, and attending meetings with Company Customers as required;
- Coordination of the lease agreements and update of the current status.
- Focal point between owners, partners and management regarding lease matters. Ensure that the helicopter leasing processes satisfy authority and company requirements
- Application process towards the authorities regarding lease matters.
- Procurement of aircraft insurance documentation and distribution of insurance documentation to the aircraft.
- Maintaining current aircraft weight and balance records and aircraft equipment lists;
- Administering and controlling the issuance of ferry permits;
- Management of all contracted maintenance activity for the US fleet:
- Reporting of technical incidents and occurrences to the authorities
- Providing required monthly reports to the authorities;
- Supporting the type engineers with special projects.
- Identifying and tracking KPIs to manage the area of responsibility;
- Administering and controlling MEL extensions
- Administering and controlling Short Term Escalation requests
- Maintain the approved vendor listing for both certificates
- Managing reporting staff competency in line with regional and business requirements, to include coordinating ongoing training and managing staff training plans;
- Managing reporting staff capacity and leave of absences;
- Assisting in Disciplinary or performance improvement activity related to reporting staff.
- Assisting in recruitment activity when required.
- Reviewing Safety Reports and Audit Findings relative to the area of responsibility and assisting in root cause analysis investigations, as well as implementing corrective and preventative actions;
Qualifications
Experience
- Experienced A&P Mechanic (minimum 5 years' experience)
- FAA experience
- Experience with a variety of products and manufacturers
- Previous experience within Continuing Airworthiness Management environment preferable.
