Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist - MMC BID SAN role performs diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems of patients to aid physicians/advanced practice practitioners in diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders.Assistswith administering respiratory care modalities and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiovascular system, under supervision of the physician/advanced practice practitioner.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)


  1. Education:Graduate or active enrollment in an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapyrequired.
  2. License/Certifications:Current applicable state(s) license or student actively pursuing license in Respiratory Carerequired. NBRC credentialing asan RRTrequiredwithin one year of eligibility. Current BLS certificationrequired. Current ACLS, PALS and NRP Certificationsrequiredor mustobtainwithin one year of start date orin accordance withDepartment guidelines.
  3. Experience:Minimum of one thousand clinical hours as a graduate therapistrequired.
