OVERVIEW:


The Sales Representative at Mall of America plays a key role in driving revenue by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities that support the destination's strategic sales and partnership goals. This role is responsible for managing a full sales cycle-from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and close-while building strong client relationships and delivering customized solutions across Mall of America's unmatched platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:



  • To generate revenue while working closely with the following MOA teams: Partnership Sales, Tourism, Marketing, Experiential, Project Management, Communications, Social Media, CSR and Operations.
  • Network for new business by cold calling and scheduling in-person meetings with a strategic pipeline of local, national and international corporations.
  • Participate in weekly reporting to track prospects and partner sales activity to ensure sales progress goals are being met.
  • Achieve annual sales goals and collaborate with other members of the sales team to help surpass overall targets goals.
  • Manage inventory within the sales CRM.
  • Work with internal departments to generate partners for mall events, promotions, and campaigns for the budget relief of an internal department.
  • In tandem with sales coordinator, document the fulfillment of sponsor contracts with detailed recaps and timely assessment of analytics for all MOA partners.


  • Work with MOA vendors to become proficient in research tools, creating sponsorship proposals and fulfillment tools.
  • Full understanding of all MOA sales and marketing materials, CRM and all legal agreements between MOA and our partners.


  • Participate in mall-wide company events.
  • Participate in Mall volunteer requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:



  • BA degree in Business, Sales or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a revenue generating role such as sponsorships and media sales
  • Ability to create sponsorship proposals and make successful presentations.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing, and corporate community strategies.
  • An effective communicator orally and written with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to navigate situations while under pressure.
  • Experience using a sales CRM and other sales tools.



PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:



  • Sitting - frequently, 80% of time spent on computers, phones and filing systems.
  • Walking - occasionally, 20% of time
  • Perform repetitive motion (using keyboard) - frequently, 80% of time.
  • Reach at or below shoulder level - occasionally, 35% of time.
  • Stand and move - occasionally, 20% of time.
  • Bend and Squat - rarely, 10% of time
  • Lifting/carry up to 20 pounds - occasionally, 15% of time.
  • Reach at or above shoulder level - rarely, 5% of time.



$57,489 - $68,000 base salary + commission

Pay is based on many aspects which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience and certifications.
