Job Title: Research Technician (T&O Fungicides)
Start Date: July 1, 2026
Job Type: Contract - 6+ months
Pay Rate: $21.00/hr
Location: Clayton, NC
Schedule: M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm

Job Summary
The Research Technician provides daily support to the Turf & Ornamental (T&O) Fungicide R&D team for implementing product development studies and trials. Work will be conducted in field plots, greenhouses, growth chambers, and a plant pathology laboratory. This is a fully onsite role based at the Clayton research facility.

Responsibilities
* Assist in conducting field trials, greenhouse studies, and laboratory tasks under the guidance of a supervisor.
* Prepare, implement, and maintain fungicide trials in field plots, greenhouses, and growth chambers.
* Grow and maintain turfgrass and ornamental plants to support fungicide tolerance and efficacy screenings.
* Inspect and maintain fungicide sample inventories to meet safety and compliance requirements.
* Support the plant pathology laboratory by purifying, propagating, and preserving turfgrass fungal pathogen inoculants.
* Document study and trial results through data collection and photography.
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor"s or Associate Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
* Coursework or lab experience in Plant Pathology, Weed Science, or Entomology.
* Experience working with plants in a research environment.
* Ability to follow standard operating procedures and analyze/discuss experimental plans.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate observations, discoveries, or anomalies.
* Ability to perform physical R&D tasks in greenhouses and field settings.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
* Valid Driver"s License.

Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of turfgrass and pest identification.
* Experience in lawn care, golf courses, landscaping, or nurseries.
* Certified Pesticide Applicator License for North Carolina, or ability to obtain within first 90 days.
