Description

This position serves as a technology analyst (or digital product manager) within the Career and Professional Education group. The position leads the technology operations for Career and Professional Education The position works closely with the Portfolio Manager for the ACS Institute and the Instructional Designer regarding all technology aspects of the eCommerce and learning management systems for Career and Professional Education, The position contributes to Division- and Society-wide initiatives that advance ACS learning opportunities and the value of these opportunities for current and prospective members. The incumbent reports directly to the Assistant Director, Career and Professional Education.

Position Accountabilities



  1. Manage the operation of the ACS Learning Center (ACSLC). Partner with internal stakeholders to set policies and procedures for on-boarding new and updating current programs on the ACSLC. Triage and resolve all inquiries.
  2. Manage, in partnership with IT, all technology components of the Career and Professional Education (CPE) office. This includes ensuring the availability of courses/workshops to potential customers, troubleshooting and solutioning issues that arise regarding the ecommerce and ACSLC interfaces, platform configurations, integrations and updates, and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.0AA), data privacy regulations, and ACS branding guidelines.
  3. Participates in the development, deployment and evaluation of new and updated technologies and products within the Career and Professional Education (CPE) office.
  4. Collaborates with IT, Finance, Communications (Digital User Experience), Research and Innovation, and Member Service teams to enable and support ACSLC functions and an optimized customized experience.
  5. Leads reporting activities from the ACSLC interface, providing updates (monthly and upon request) to key stakeholders on platform and program/course performance.
  6. Serve as an internal advocate and trainer for the ACS Institute and ACS Learning Center by educating teams on platform capabilities, identifying use cases, and driving adoption.
  7. Provides governance support for career and professional education-related ACS component groups. Stay current with trends in educational technology, e-commerce, and digital product management



This role is based in our Washington, DC office and a reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $110,000-$120,000 per year. ACS employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose.

Education
Bachelors of Business Administration (preferred)
Bachelors of Computer Science (required)
Bachelors of Information Technology (required)
Experience
3 - 5 years: *Familiarity with eLearning standards, such as SCORM, xAPI, and HTML5.
*Familiarity with implementing and maintaining WCAG accessibility standards.
*Familiarity with Jira and Atlassian suite.
*Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, especially in matrixed environments.
*Experience influencing without authority.
*Experience with analytics tools and performance dashboards.
*STEM education or professional learning experience is a plus.
