Salary: $17.75 - $19.25

Position Summary: Children's Aid runs a summer day camp in Chappaqua, NY that brings together children from Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester. Campers and staff are bused to and from the camp each day. The purpose of this camp is to provide traditional summer camp activities (swimming, arts & crafts, sports, horsemanship, etc.) in the context of relationship building. The children who attend this camp are from different socio-economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds, and range in age from 6-13.

The Health Aide assists the Camp Health Director in providing all the health care on campus for the campers and staff. The Health Aide is the designee of the Health Director and operates the infirmary in the absence of the Health Director.

Essential Duties:



  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Review all the medicals of the campers for medical alerts and special conditions.
  • Provide first aid and care at the direction of the Camp Health Director.
  • Maintain the Medical Log for all services provided to campers and staff.
  • Perform all health tasks necessary to provide care for campers at the direction of the Camp Health Director.
  • Communicate with parents regarding treatment that campers receive at the infirmary at the direction of the Camp Health Director.
  • Maintain the Infirmary in an orderly fashion.
  • Accompany campers to the hospital at the direction of the Camp Health Director.
  • Fulfill any other health related job activities important to the success of the camp.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must have a CPR certification of a year or less.
  • RTE Certificate or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Prior experience in providing first aid.
  • Experience with children.
