Position Overview

We are seeking a Category Manager Specialist to support our Category Management team in driving product performance, optimizing assortments, and executing category initiatives. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals interested in building a career in category management, merchandising, or product strategy.

The Category Manager Specialist will work closely with Category Managers and cross-functional teams to analyze product performance, manage product data, support new product launches, and coordinate vendor communication. This role plays an important part in ensuring category strategies are executed efficiently while developing the foundational skills needed to grow into a Category Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Assortment Support
  • Track and manage new product samples, ensuring they are received, logged, and distributed to appropriate teams for review.
  • Maintain SKU setup and ongoing SKU maintenance, including product attributes, pricing, and system updates.
  • Support the coordination and readiness of new product launches and seasonal assortments.

Pricing & Vendor Support
  • Manage and track price change updates across product assortments.
  • Review and analyze product returns to identify trends or potential product issues.
  • Process vendor debits and deductions as required, ensuring proper documentation and communication with vendors.
  • Support vendor communication related to product details, pricing updates, and operational requests.


Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Partner with Marketing teams on product launch initiatives, promotional campaigns, and merchandising projects.
  • Assist with gathering product assets, including images, descriptions, and specifications, for marketing and product listings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Product Development, Supply Chain, and Marketing, to support category initiatives.

Operational Execution
  • Assist with product setup and ensure data accuracy across internal systems.
  • Track product launch timelines and help ensure categories are prepared for market introduction.
  • Maintain category documentation, reports, and assortment planning tools.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in retail, merchandising, product management, or data analysis (internships included)
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
