LaForce is looking for an IT Support Technician to serve as the first point of contact for all computer and phone issues Company wide. The IT Support Technician will provide user support for PC software and hardware; basic software and printer issues; and internal/cell phone systems, and will assist in PC network, hardware and software maintenance and upgrades.

Major Responsibilities



  • Operate LaForce Technical Support Desk.

  • Identify type of problem presented by users, and determine whether to address themselves, or direct call to person with appropriate expertise.



  • Answers user's PC related hardware/software operation inquiries in person and/or via telephone. Technician will diagnose various systems hardware, software, and operator problems. Recommends or performs the actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.



  • Supports and diagnoses other hardware problems, including land/cellular phones.



  • Installs or assists in installation of microcomputers, software, networks, and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, boards, and disk drives at user location.



  • Maintains tracking (assets) system recording new equipment installed, new sites, and changes to computer configurations.



  • Determine correct internal senior support personnel to escalate unresolved problems for assistance or correction.



  • Coordinates activities of PC software and maintains documentation library.



  • Document and update task list using Help Desk software for tracking problems and solutions.



  • Monitors and Insures adherence to PC security, virus, and backup policies and procedures.



  • Performs or ensures that preventative maintenance tasks are performed on PC's, switches, printers and any other network related equipment (preventative maintenance such as but not limited to cleaning).



  • Write and maintain documentation for users and staff to describe software and hardware installation and operation.



  • Assists users on PC software and hardware operation.



  • Adhere to company standards and requirements in setting up new users, new user training on PC equipment, company calendar system and desktop phone.



  • Assist network administrator with building/upgrading PC's to the network administrators specifications. Network includes LAN/MAN/WAN has the components of hardware, software or data, and also wireless or cable media.



  • Other responsibilities may be assigned. All corporate quality standards are to be applied to all duties.





Qualifications



  • Associate's Degree from a two-year college (preferably in Personal Computer or Micro Computer field); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Strong customer service oriented
  • Self-motivation and the desire to meet objectives
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Drug Screen, background, employment verification
