The Los Angeles office is seeking a Practice Coordinator to support lawyers within our Disputes practice. This is an exciting opportunity to continue developing core litigation skillsets while working closely with a highly-regarded group of lawyers in a collaborative, fastpaced environment. The Practice Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the daytoday administrative operations of the practice, helping keep matters running smoothly and enabling our lawyers to deliver exceptional client service.

This position will require presence in the office at least three days per week pursuant to the firm's hybrid work policy. Overtime and flexibility in schedule is required from time to time.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute document production, including formatting, editing, and finalizing correspondence, memoranda, briefs, motions, and pleadings
  • Proofread all documents for accuracy, grammar, and formatting
  • E-file with various courts and remain up to date on format, filing requirements and deadlines
  • Calendar and monitor case and matter deadlines, notifying lawyers or the docketing team as needed
  • Open new clients/matters, including facilitating conflict checks, completing new matter forms, and preparing engagement letters
  • Review and edit pre-bills for submission to the billing department and research outstanding invoices and payments as needed
  • Maintain organized client and matter files and ensure compliance with firm protocols
  • Communicate with courts, agencies, other counsel, and clients to obtain and relay information
  • Schedule and manage meetings, calls, and logistics for lawyers and clients
  • Reconcile invoices and manage reimbursements in the expense system
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and assist with lawyer time entry as needed
  • Assist the firm and peers with overflow work and provide backup support, as requested
  • May train, assist, and provide orientation for new and less experienced members of staff

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma is required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience performing legal administrative duties in a law firm or professional service organization; litigation experience required
  • Proficiency in litigation calendaring and software, Milana preferred
  • Ability to anticipate needs, confirm next steps, and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite, with a strong ability to learn and adapt to new software quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively, while effectively prioritizing workload and adhoc demands
  • Exercises appropriate confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding abilities, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable, resourceful, organized, and detail-oriented

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The full time base annual salary for this position in the Los Angeles market is expected to range between $100,000 and $120,000. This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for a position in Los Angeles. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
