Overview/Function: The Automated Warehouse Material Handler - SAW Lane is responsible for the fulfillment of customer orders by retrieving and stacking specific lower volume products and quantities as specified on the pick ticket/computer screen assigned on a pre-determined conveyor, in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. This role is expected to maintain the highest expectations for safety, accuracy, and/or efficiency. This position may also be responsible for building stable pallets of product in preparation for delivery.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist and facilitate in case picking and sorting within the automated environment using computer monitor and complex conveyor machines while adhering to all established Atlantic Bottling safety procedures and policies
- Dependably collaborate within a team environment to efficiently follow all warehouse processes.
- Adapt to needs of the role and maintain working knowledge in different work areas throughout the workday including, but not limited to, HQS and Hand Stack.
- Assist in daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse, including keeping the work area free of trash and debris, as well as cleaning any type of spillage while following all waste removal and recycling protocols.
- Organize empty pallets by pallet type and neatly stacking them in the pallet return area.
- When applicable, safely distribute put back cases to the same sku pallet which they came from in the Vertique processing area.
- Work safely, accurately, and efficiently to control warehouse inventory and to keep shrink at an acceptable level.
Other duties as required: Perform miscellaneous activities as directed to support the efficient operation of a warehouse in a dynamic environment
Experience & Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED. Previous related experience will be considered.
- Ability to work in an active and fast-paced atmosphere while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds is also needed.
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
- Ability to independently follow all warehouse processes.
- Ability to adapt to needs of role in different work areas throughout the workday.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer monitor.
- Attention to detail and ability to differentiate our packages.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively work in a noisy and non-climate controlled (hot in summer, cold in winter) environment.
- Intentional self-starter who takes initiative and proactively seeks out value-add opportunities.
- Ability to utilize screens, monitors, and devices to pick accurately and within a given sequence.
- Positive, helpful attitude.
- Regular, consistent attendance is an essential job function.
Additional:
- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
- This position is very active and requires repetitive lifting and moving of 30 to 75 pounds.
- Standing, walking, twisting, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing will be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The warehouse environment temperatures are unregulated and dependent upon outdoor temperatures. The climate can be noisy with an active environment.
- Flexibility in work scheduling is required as work hours are subject to change based on business demands. Typical work hours are 6:00 am to 3:00 pm (additional hours will sometimes be required based upon workload), Monday-Friday.
