Mission Statement

The Maintenance Lead position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others and possesses a positive attitude. Must be able to follow standard operating procedures and have strong attention to detail coupled with being a strong team player.

This position is not for candidates who have less than the required years of experience, have not worked in the position or a closely related position before, or who do not meet the minimum job requirements.

Responsible for all maintenance activities, including equipment safety, maximizing machine productivity and uptime, as well as the condition and upkeep of the facility. This position plays a key role in supporting, maintaining, and improving processes associated with the computerized maintenance management system for process reliability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Associate's degree, diploma or technical certificates in related field is acceptable, or 2 - 5 years of experience in a combination of at least two of the following:
    • Plant Maintenance in a Lead Role
    • Building Maintenance
    • Equipment Manufacturing
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated hands on experience and working knowledge with each of the following:
    • Industrial Mechanical Systems and Controls
    • Industrial Electrical Systems and Controls
    • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • History of meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Capable of dealing with multiple problems at the same time
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine solutions
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Make recommendations to Management in regards to disciplinary actions
  • Strong team player
  • Must have demonstrated communication skills and be able to prioritize complex tasks and problem solve.
  • Computer literate - Experience in Microsoft Office products: Excel and Word a must.
  • Flexible schedule to provide coverage for all shifts as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in preventive & predictive maintenance/process reliability efforts.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment (both mechanical and electrical systems).
  • Diagnosis and repair of equipment and facility malfunctions and faults.
  • Use technical expertise to identify solutions to equipment related problems and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist Production personnel with non-routine problems with the operation of equipment.
  • Work in conjunction with Project Engineers to provide support for capital improvement projects as necessary.
  • Work closely with ISO Coordinator and standards bodies (e.g. ISO-9001, ISO-14001) to ensure continuous compliance with ISO standards and requirements.

Job Essentials:

  • Must be able to left 60 lbs at any given time.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklift and other industrial equipment.
  • Experience in metal fabrication and welding a plus, but not required.
  • Maintain safe work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures

Other Relevant Requirements:

  • Must be in good company standing based on attendance, job performance, safety, quality of work, job knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, initiative, dependability, and versatility to qualify.
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Mathematical skills to include the ability to understand percentages, multiplication, subtraction, division, decimals, and fractions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, push, pull & reach for long periods of time. Must be able to lift & carry up to 60 lbs. Ability to maneuver around an array of machinery. Use of hands to finger, handle or feel. Color & peripheral vision; depth perception & ability to adjust focus. Work environment conditions include: exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes, airborne particles and chemicals; extreme heat & loud noise level in some areas of the facility. Ability to quickly respond to a signal when it appears. Must be able to wear half mask respirator, safety glasses & other assigned PPE for the duration of the shift. Ability to work in an efficient & timely manner, multitasking where necessary. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform duties which requires tolerance of standing, repetitive hand movements, continual bending and squatting, near/far/depth/color vision, and inside ambient temperatures
