National Grid is hiring an Supervisor - Procure to Pay in Upstate NY. This is a Hybrid (2 days in the office) role that sits in our Syracuse NY Office.

Job Purpose

As a Supervisor - Procure to Pay you will provide front line leadership for operations and will an array of responsibilities that include driving performance, coaching, mentoring, training and overall development of the team. Candidates must be focused on results with an idea for developing clear and specific goals.

Candidates must exhibit interpersonal skills consisting of excellent communications in active listening and clear and precise presentations. Management skills encouraging group participation and diversity of thought, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workflows within budget. A team player building group spirit, while exhibiting a professional work ethic and leadership skills that inspire others to the need for specific changes in the way work is accomplished. Quality, timeliness, supplier/customer/employee satisfaction while providing a cost-effective and reliable service are key goals.

What You'll Do:
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company policies, standards, regulatory and health & safety requirements.
  • Lead, coach and develop employees through training, job rotation and cross skilling.
  • Manage performance by setting clear expectations, observing work practices and providing regular feedback.
  • Develop effective schedules and assignments to maximise productivity and service delivery.
  • Monitor Service Level targets and KPIs, clearly communicating goals and performance metrics to the team.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across processes and shared services.
  • Promote engagement, teamwork and participation in decision making, removing obstacles through collaboration.
  • Enforce collective bargaining agreements and support fair, consistent people management.
  • Take ownership of performance, quality issues, customer concerns and emergency situations, escalating where required.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful and values led culture, demonstrating integrity, openness and "one team" behaviours.
What You'll Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with typically 5+ years in a related role.
  • Experience working in a unionised environment and applying negotiated agreements a plus; labour relations knowledge desirable
  • Proven ability to manage conflict, assess complex employee situations, and achieve fair, balanced outcomes.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Well developed analytical, problem solving and decision making capabilities, with a drive for results and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to design and implement business processes and strategies with minimal direction.
  • Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with SAP and Procure to Pay processes preferred.
  • Organisational savvy, with the ability to build networks, engage stakeholders and navigate informal structures to get things done.

Annual Salary

$80,000-$94,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
