Job Summary


Assist in the preparation of Statutory & GAAP Financial Statements and handle day to day financial reporting of all activities that will assist management and others in making education economic decisions about the Company's future.



Duties and Responsibilities



  • Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication, Teamwork, and Operational Excellence
  • Lead and manage complex collections activities, including high-dollar, aged, and escalated balances
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal and external customers to resolve sensitive and potentially complex accounts and drive recovery outcomes
  • Manage and monitor legal collections efforts, including accounts in litigation, bankruptcy, receivership, or other legally sensitive statuses
  • Build, maintain, and enhance collections reporting and analysis, ensuring alignment with the general ledger and accuracy of financial data while also utilizing reporting to develop targeted strategies to drive resolution and recovery
  • Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and system inefficiencies, and recommend and implement solutions to improve collections performance and reduce risk
  • Ensure all activities adhere to internal controls, SOX compliance, and regulatory requirements, maintaining audit-ready documentation at all times
  • Assist in cash application, account reconciliations, suspense clearing, and resolution of unapplied cash as needed
  • Support preparation of internal reporting, audits, and financial analysis related to receivables and collections performance
  • Interact with state insurance departments, regulatory bodies, and legal representatives as required
  • Participate in special projects, including process standardization, system enhancements, and operational scaling initiatives



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Strong working knowledge of accounts receivable, collections strategies, account reconciliation, and financial reporting
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Legal and Compliance teams, with an understanding of regulatory and risk considerations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reconciliations, advanced analytical skills and ability to interpret large datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • High level of initiative, accountability, and ownership in driving outcomes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and high-pressure situations
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Experience within insurance, E&S, or financial services environments preferred, but not required



Experience and Education


Staff Accountant



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Three years' experience in corporate and/or public accountancy or finance roles required
  • Working towards CPA designation a plus
  • Hands-on accounting experience within the Property and Casualty Insurance industry desired, but not required


Senior Accounting Associate



  • Pursuing or achieved a four-year degree in Accounting
  • Two plus years prior experience in corporate finance or equivalent required
