The Role & Your Impact:

The Microbiology team in Franklinton, North Carolina is responsible for day-to-day laboratory operations related to microbiological testing. These operations support the production flow of internal products and ensure customers receive reliable, consistent product quality. You will also uphold and implement improvements across Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, including ISO9001, FAMIQS, and FSSC22000.

What You'll Do:

  • Supervise all testing and related activities in the microbiology laboratory.

  • Monitor and review control data to ensure compliance with global guidelines and maintain assay/test reliability.

  • Ensure all laboratory personnel maintain compliance and proficiency with approved methods and SOPs.

  • Evaluate new or revised test methods and approve procedures for performing tests.

  • Implement and maintain an effective laboratory safety program.

  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for Quality Control management.

Role complexity:

This position focuses on daytoday execution of laboratory operations and collaboration with internal stakeholders across Quality, Production, and other relevant functions.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • B.S. (or equivalent) in Microbiology or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of six years of relevant industrial laboratory experience.

  • Demonstrated progression of responsibility.

  • Ability to interpret, evaluate, and apply regulations, policies, and procedures across varied work situations.

  • Knowledge of management tools and international standards.

  • Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator (as determined by site requirements).

What We Offer:

Ways of Working:
  • The team operates seven days a week, mainly on first shift (7:00-3:30).

  • Officefirst policy to support daily work.

  • Little travel required (<5%)

Compensation & Benefits:

Expected base salary: $75,000-105,000
