Position Description:

The Department of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures, and Cultures at The University invites applications for a full-time visiting faculty position teaching Italian for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach introductory and intermediate language courses as well as literary and cultural surveys. According to departmental standard, the teaching load is eight courses per year, contingent upon enrollments.

Required qualifications: Ph.D. with a specialization in a relevant area of Italian studies, native or near-native fluency in Italian and English, a record of excellence in teaching Italian at the college/university level, and experience with online/hybrid teaching.Desirable qualifications: expertise in language pedagogy and the use of multimedia technology in SLA.

Education Requirement:


  • Candidates must hold a Ph.D. with a specialization in a relevant area of Italian studies
