At Vasion, our mission is to make digital transformation attainable for everyone. We build cloud-native software that empowers organizations to automate workflows, eliminate paper, and operate smarter - and we're scaling fast. We don't do conventional. We move with purpose, think boldly, and hire people who do the same.

The Opportunity

Pricing isn't just a number - it's a signal of value. As our first Senior Pricing Manager, you'll have the rare opportunity to build this function from scratch inside a high-growth enterprise software company. You'll work directly with our Chief Product Officer to shape how Vasion packages, positions, and monetizes its products - including an immediate mandate to lead our foundational pricing strategy engagement alongside a top-tier external consultancy.

This is a strategic, high-visibility role for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, market intelligence, and business storytelling - and who knows how to turn a great strategy into something the business can actually execute.

Reports To: Chief Product Officer Location: St. George or Lehi, UT (Hybrid) Department: Product

What You'll Own Pricing Strategy Development (Year 1 Priority)
  • Own the execution of Vasion's foundational pricing and packaging strategy, partnering with an external pricing consultancy to develop a model that reflects our product portfolio, customer segments, and growth objectives
  • Serve as the internal lead and primary point of continuity for the consulting engagement - providing business context, validating assumptions, pressure-testing recommendations, and ensuring outputs are actionable and adoptable internally
  • Translate consulting outputs into internal frameworks, sales tools, and governance policies the business can operationalize post-engagement
  • Ensure the strategy developed is durable and internally owned - not consultant-dependent - by building capability and documentation alongside it
  • Lead pricing transition programs as Vasion moves customers from legacy models to modern SaaS and AI-enhanced offerings - managing change in a way that minimizes churn and maximizes perceived value
  • Design customer-facing communication strategies for price changes or model migrations with care for retention and long-term relationship health
Monetization Strategy
  • Own and evolve Vasion's pricing and packaging strategy across our product portfolio, from initial engagement through ongoing refinement
  • Evaluate monetization models - including subscription, tiered, value-based, consumption-based, and AI-native pricing - and recommend the right approach based on customer segments, product value, and market dynamics
  • Develop pricing frameworks for AI-powered features and products, including consumption and outcome-based models, with a clear understanding of underlying inference cost structures and how to translate them into margin-aware, customer-friendly pricing
  • Help customers and the field articulate the ROI of AI capabilities - quantifying time savings, automation value, and decision quality improvements in ways that hold up in a sales conversation
  • Translate product and market insights into clear, actionable pricing recommendations for executive leadership
Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning
  • Build a continuous competitive pricing intelligence practice to keep Vasion sharp in the market, with particular attention to fast-moving AI competitor pricing dynamics
  • Monitor industry trends, customer buying behavior, and competitor moves - including AI add-on strategies, copilot pricing models, and embedded vs. standalone AI pricing - to inform strategic decisions
  • Conduct ongoing research and analyze historical pricing data, win/loss trends, and customer behavior to surface proactive recommendations
Go-to-Market Alignment
  • Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure pricing decisions align with overall business goals and commercial execution
  • Build pricing playbooks for the field - including floor prices, negotiation guardrails, discount authority frameworks, and competitive response tools - that empower sales without eroding margin
  • Design pricing that supports land-and-expand motions, leveraging AI adoption and product expansion as drivers of revenue growth beyond the initial sale
  • Help sales teams articulate and defend value in competitive deals, particularly for new capabilities where buyer skepticism is high
Infrastructure & Governance
  • Establish the pricing tools, processes, and policies that will scale with the business
  • Define KPIs for pricing performance and deliver regular reporting to leadership
  • Create functional strategies and specific objectives, and develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support the pricing function's infrastructure

Requirements

  • 8+ years in pricing, product strategy, revenue operations, or corporate finance - with at least two years in a senior or leadership role
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing pricing strategies that drove measurable revenue or margin impact
  • Hands-on experience pricing AI-powered products or features, including usage/credit-based models, AI feature tiering, and outcome-based pricing - in production, not just in theory
  • Experience in B2B technology or enterprise software strongly preferred, including companies that have undergone a business model transformation (traditional software SaaS AI)
  • Comfortable operating as an individual contributor while influencing at the executive level

Skills & Attributes

  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, and results-oriented - you don't wait to be told what to do, you bring a point of view
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including the ability to model AI cost structures (token consumption, compute costs) and translate them into sustainable pricing
  • Exceptional communicator who can simplify complexity, build buy-in across functions, and help buyers understand value before committing to new models
  • Skilled at leading pricing transitions - including managing customer skepticism and building internal confidence in new models
  • Comfortable building in ambiguity - this role comes with a blank canvas and high expectations

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred, but not required if your track record speaks for itself

Bonus Points

  • Experience partnering with or working alongside external pricing consultancies (e.g., Simon-Kucher, Bain, McKinsey) to develop and operationalize pricing strategy
  • Hands-on experience with CPQ tools, pricing platforms, or revenue management systems
  • Background in pricing for platform or multi-product software companies
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a scaling or PE-backed environment
