Job Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Distributes daily work assignments to staff and coordinates staff calendar and scheduling for paid-time off, weekend, and holiday coverage to maintain optimal staffing levels.

  • Performs interval departmental audits, and oversight of on-going processes that support the department's established performance improvement plan.

  • Prepares and actively participates in mandatory scheduled meetings: Care Management leadership team meeting; staff meetings; one-to-one staffing rounds, inter-departmental length of stay/disposition meeting, utilization review committee meeting, and multidisciplinary team meeting.

  • Works collaboratively with management, Clinical Service Line Leadership, and Support Services to identify barriers to efficient service delivery, and patient variance. Assist in identifying, developing, and implementing processes designed to decrease care variance, increase operating efficiency, and improve patient outcomes.

  • Assists with development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.

  • Provides direction, assistance and caseload coverage for the department in absence of the manager or staff shortages.

  • Maintains mandatory educational requirements and performance level, as required within organizational leadership framework. Demonstrate and maintain optimal skill level within scope of practice for professional registered nurse, case manager, field-related educational degree, and applicable professional certifications.

  • Coordinates and implements staff training, development, and coaching/mentoring. Provides discipline as appropriate for level of leadership. Provides measurement of performance outcomes to support input toward performance appraisal; retention of competent staff, and rewards and recognition of accomplishments. Provides input into the interview and selection of candidates to fill vacant positions.

Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree required
  • BSN or Master's Degree in health related field preferred
  • Current Georgia Registered Nursing (RN) license required
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) card required
  • Two (2) years' experience as Utilization Reviewer/Care Coordinator with knowledge of third party reimbursement requirements required
  • Certified Case Manager (CCM) preferred
  • Knowledge of Case Management practice as demonstrated by at least one (1) year CM/UM/QM experience preferred
  • Proficiency with database spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, activities, and responsibilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate supervisory support to line management, toward promoting and establishing self-directed teams.
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK NIGHTS
