Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB's Water Resources group is growing across New England, and we're looking for a Water Resources Engineer to join its dynamic team of Water Resources specialists in Winooski, Vermont. We're looking for an early career Water Resources Engineer to work with our existing water resource group and support our work in the areas of hydrology and hydraulics analysis, stormwater management, culvert and bridge design, flood mitigation and management, and resiliency efforts, among others. Our work supports public and private clients with resilient and sustainable solutions to their water resources challenges using innovative approaches.

Responsibilities

    Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stormwater systems, analysis and design of conveyance systems (e.g., bridges and culverts), dam safety analysis, stream restoration and floodplain analysis
  • Conduct data collection and field work
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, engineering designs, and permit applications

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong computer skills with AutoCAD and GIS experience desired
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis desired

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 0-1 years of professional Civil or Environmental engineering experience
  • AutoCAD, HydroCAD and ArcGIS experience is a plus
  • Ability to perform fieldwork
  • FE Preferred

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $70,000-$73,000 for candidates located in Vermont. Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including individual qualifications, education, and experience.
