Overview

The Manager, US Benefits oversees the administration and delivery of Alnylam's U.S. benefits and leave programs, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a high-quality employee experience. This role partners closely with vendors, HR colleagues, and our broker to deliver reliable, employee focused service in a fast paced environment. This position will report to the Director, US Benefits.

This is a hybrid position and will primarily be based in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Manage U.S. leave programs (FMLA, parental, disability) and partner with the Leave/ADA vendor to ensure accurate, compliant, employee focused case handling.
  • Coordinate closely with People Relations, HRBPs, Payroll, Legal, and vendors to support timely case updates and communication.
  • Oversee the day to day administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, COBRA, and retirement plans while maintaining service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, Section 125, and federal/state requirements, supporting audits, 5500 filings, and nondiscrimination testing.
  • Build strong vendor and broker partnerships and act as an escalation point for complex employee inquiries.
  • Partner with HRIS to ensure accurate benefits data, testing, system maintenance, and reporting in SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Lead annual Open Enrollment planning, communications, testing, data validation, and reconciliation.
  • Develop clear, employee friendly benefits communications, support wellness initiatives, and provide direct guidance to employees and managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent HR experience).
  • 5+ years of U.S. benefits administration experience, including LOA programs exposure.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and federal/state regulations.
  • Experience partnering with third party vendors and brokers.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors (benefits configuration, data review, workflow coordination).
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and problem solving skills.

U.S. Pay Range

$114,800.00 - $155,300.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
