- Manage veterinarian region within Butterball's North Carolina Live Operation.
- Perform all necessary veterinary care and procedures for commercial turkeys grownin the assigned live operation region to ensure their care, health, and well-being.
- Provide and document surveillance, clinical diagnostics, and treatment regimens for flocks.
- Provide oversight to ensure standard operating procedures for animal care and wellbeing are met
- Act as a primary liaison with industry colleagues, customers, and regulatoryagencies as needed.
- Provide guidance to Butterball live operations and processing associates to ensureefficient production of healthy birds for processing.
- Interact with processing plant management and USDA to address health and foodsafety related plant issues.
- Promote and support the Butterball Animal Care and Well-Being and Biosecurityprograms by providing training, conducting internal audits, and coordinating third party audits for program effectiveness and results.
- Research and analyze health challenges to develop and implement vaccinationprograms and intervention strategies.
- Generate grower and associate communications to share health trends andresearch conclusions.
- Analyze long term disease trends and provide recommendations for continuousimprovement across the enterprise.
- Coordinate surveillance programs and work with diagnostic laboratory partners
- Timely approval of prescriptions.
- Oversee antibiotic use and ensure treatment plans are documented, communicated, and followed.
- Assist in research projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) required
- North Carolina Veterinary Medical Licensure required
- Additional poultry training or experience preferred
- Residency or Masters in poultry preferred
- Professional memberships and continuing education reimbursement provided
Work/Physical Requirements:
- Valid Driver's license, lift up to 50 pounds, can work in wet, cold, hot, dusty environments with appropriate PPE.
- Requires work around sick or diseased animals where additional precautions may need to be taken.
- Showering in and out of farm locations may be required.
- Noise levels in the processing plant require hearing protection.
- Ability to travel up to 50% in state.
- Ability to travel up to 20% out of state.
- Occasional night and weekend work.
