About This Role

Kansas State University and the College of Education is seeking applicants for a part-time, term appointment as a teaching professor (non-tenure track) in the Educational Leadership department to begin August 2026.

The position is designed to support the practitioner focused programs of the Department of Educational leadership. This position is aligned with the Educational Leadership program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate courses in the MS or EdD curriculum, gaining graduate faculty status from the Graduate School, serving on doctoral committees. The successful candidate will have earned an Ed.D. in the field of educational leadership or related area. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for teaching graduate level courses in both face-to-face and distance (asynchronous and synchronous) modalities depending upon the department needs. A successful candidate should have an established record of scholarship, professional work experience serving as a district leader in Kansas, and successful experience teaching adult learners.

The vision of the College of Education at Kansas State University is "preparing educators to be knowledgeable, ethical, and caring decision makers." This position, along with all positions in the College of Education, is directly responsibility for advancing this vision and that of the Department of Educational Leadership. The Department of Educational Leadership houses a PK-12 leadership graduate program, the adult learning and leadership graduate program, and the Community College Leadership doctoral program. The Educational Leadership program is offered at a variety of locations throughout the state of Kansas as well as at a distance.

This position is hybrid and/or remote eligible.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Doctoral degree in educational leadership/administration or closely related education field
  • Experience as public school building and/or district administrator
  • Knowledge of and strong interest in designing, implementing, and instructing face-to-face and online courses
  • Ability and commitment to work collaboratively in group settings
  • Willingness to establish scholarly activity, which includes peer-reviewed publications and national presentations


The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience teaching at the college level
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience merging theory, research, and practice
  • Experience and knowledge of Kansas PK-12 administration
