Planning Supervisor

Job Summary
At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Planning Supervisor based in our yogurt manufacturing plant in West Jordan, Utah! The Planning Supervisor owns the finished goods schedule and replenishment plan. This role also oversees packaging and ingredient receipts to purchase orders and tracks packaging and ingredient costs to help maintain the target level of working capital.

Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

Create and manage leveled production schedule for assigned production lines using APO
• Prepare and release production orders and monitor each order is completed on time
• Conduct capacity planning for assigned production lines to meet company targets
• Conduct capacity planning for processing department
• Establish and influence the use of best practices and strategic benchmarks for assessing scheduling and supply planning processes
• Define and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for measuring progress
• Develop training programs and development/progression plans for direct reports
• Develop strategic partnerships across the company and with third party contractors to increase overall planning efficiency
• Develop and manage cross-functional improvement strategies
• Lead and direct effective interactions and positive cooperation through work relationships between all levels of the organization
• Champion the organization's values by leading best practices in scheduling and supply planning by supporting Safety and Quality initiatives
• Oversee the communication of customer service delays to production schedule and forecast
• Supervise production planning for broader Product Supply Team, supporting process adherence, tight execution, long-term plan development and clear/timely communication
• Oversee the development and execution of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual (as directed) predictive schedules to determine build, purchase and resupply requirements, using SAP planning tools
• Supervise/conduct the collaboration of demand planning, customer service, logistics, procurement, and production facility planners to develop/adjust required inputs for detailed production planning
• Supervise the scheduling and supply planning team's ability to coordinate future capacity/supply constraints (manufacturing, raw materials, packaging) affecting production by engaging stakeholders throughout the planning process and lead the development of recovery plans
• Support cost reduction through effective and efficient capacity utilization
• Gain consensus from upstream and downstream functions on pipeline fills, customer events, or seasonal products to ensure production plans are executable and aligned with demand
• Other duties as assigned

The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, risk of electrical shock and vibration

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we're looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
• Bachelor's degree preferred (supply chain or business degree)
• 3+ years of supply chain experience in customer service, distribution, or inventory/production planning required
• 5+ years' food industry experience preferred
• 3+ years' experience with ERP systems preferred
• Bulk Ordering/Balancing for daily production required
• Strong Excel experience required
• Purchasing, scheduling and inventory management experience required
• Managing product life cycle experience required
• SAP experience required
• Root cause analysis experience preferred
• APICS CPIM certified preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge and understanding of material flow related to production requirements planning
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
• Knowledge of production scheduling, materials scheduling management, inventory and finished goods management
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent multi-tasking, organization, and time-management skills
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Sound business acumen with corresponding analytical and judgment skills
• The ability to create pivot tables, use v-lookup, conduct data analysis of large sets of data using Excel
• Strong customer focus with ability to foster effective cross-functional partnerships
• The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication, and influencing skills
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
• The ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate. Work schedules could include days, nights or weekend work schedules as needed.
