Description

Steelcase is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architect to help design and execute the next iteration of our global security program. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), this is a strategic individual contributor role with enterprise-wide influence.

You will act as the technical authority for our security architecture. We are looking for an engineer who can design resilient systems, automate protections, and embed security natively into our cloud services, application pipelines, and global manufacturing environments. You will get hands-on driving our SASE and Zero Trust evolution using platforms like Netskope, while ensuring our global OT and IT environments remain secure and operational.

If you want to architect defense-in-depth strategies at a multi-billion-dollar global scale and have a direct line to executive leadership to execute your vision, this is your seat.

Helping You Thrive By:

  • Offering competitive wages and benefits, that support your life both in and out of work
  • Providing a flexible hybrid work schedule, meaning we expect the office to be your primary place of work, balanced with choice and control
  • Creating continuous learning opportunities to help you grow and upskill
  • Fostering a culture of inclusion where employees feel seen, heard and valued - and living it out every day
  • Empowering you to make a meaningful impact on people and the planet through your work and Steelcase's ongoing commitment

You'll Support Meaningful Work By:

  • Strategic Architecture: Serve as the CISO's technical lead, designing and validating enterprise security controls across cloud, on-premise, and edge environments.
  • Modernize the Perimeter: Architect our transition to modern Zero Trust and SASE frameworks (e.g., Netskope), pushing security to the edge and the endpoint.
  • OT & Manufacturing Security: Design segmented, resilient architectures that protect our global manufacturing floors and Operational Technology (OT) from IT-borne threats.
  • Cloud & AppSec Natively: Work directly with Application Development and DevOps teams to bake security into the CI/CD pipeline and cloud infrastructure.
  • Threat-Informed Defense: Translate intelligence on emerging threat vectors into concrete architectural improvements, automating detection and response capabilities wherever possible.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience across highly diverse technical areas of cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale security architecture, engineering, or deeply technical operations.
  • Systems-level thinking. You understand how identity, network, cloud, and endpoints interact, and you know how to secure the seams between them.
  • Deep foundational knowledge in modern security frameworks (Zero Trust, SASE, IAM, CSPM) and the hands-on engineering background to prove it.
  • You can communicate complex technical risks clearly to developers, infrastructure engineers, and business leaders alike.
  • A high sense of ownership. You balance long-term architectural vision with the operational urgency required in mission-critical environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on background in incident response, threat hunting, or penetration testing.
  • Experience securing manufacturing or OT/ICS environments.
  • Familiarity navigating the intersection of security and global regulatory frameworks (e.g. SOX, HIPAA, GDPR).

Note: We care about capability, curiosity, and execution more than a specific degree or an arbitrary number of years in the industry. If you have a hacker mindset, a history of building resilient systems, and do not meet every single bullet point, we still want to hear from you.

This position may require work outside of normal business hours including nights, and weekends.

Because this position will be entrusted with sensitive information, high-level system access, and must establish trust and credibility with stakeholders to accomplish their objectives, candidates must maintain the highest ethical standards and integrity in their actions.
