Primary Function

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for safely, efficiently, and accurately handling, moving, and storing materials within the warehouse. This role supports daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment, ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods to meet customer and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

Material Handling & Movement

  • Load, unload, move, and stack products using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Transport materials to designated storage locations or production areas.
  • Ensure proper handling procedures to prevent product damage.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Assist with receiving inbound materials by verifying counts, inspecting condition, and documenting discrepancies.
  • Prepare outbound shipments by staging, palletizing, labeling, and wrapping materials.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately.

Inventory Control

  • Pick, pack, and stage orders according to pick lists or work orders.
  • Perform cycle counts and report inventory variances.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and accessible storage areas.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety rules, OSHA standards, and equipment operating guidelines.
  • Inspect forklifts and material-handling equipment daily before use.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment defects, or incidents immediately.

General Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Assist other team members and support cross-functional warehouse tasks as needed.
  • Meet productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior warehouse or materialhandling experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods.
  • Basic computer or scanner skills for inventory transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred

  • Forklift certification (sitdown, standup, or reach truck).
  • Experience with WMS or ERP systems.
  • Experience in a fastpaced warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

  • Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures
