GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Plant Maintenance role supports the production facility by performing inspections, troubleshooting equipment, and assisting with the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, including pumps, hydraulic, and air systems. This position helps install equipment and follows all safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out. Ideal candidates have mechanical aptitude, are comfortable using hand and power tools, and are motivated to learn and grow their maintenance skills.

Salary range $25 - $31.21. Based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Inspect and help troubleshoot equipment and systems
  • Focus on maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, pumps, hydraulic, and air systems
  • Assist with installing and setting up equipment and appliances
  • Identify basic issues with equipment and report or assist in repairs (training provided)
  • Operate and inspect equipment like overhead cranes and forklifts (with training)
  • Help inspect larger equipment such as travel lifts
  • Work both indoors and outdoors as needed
  • Follow all safety policies, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
  • Keep basic maintenance records and help schedule routine upkeep
  • Learn and grow technical skills on the job, including basic electrical concepts if needed


EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Mechanical aptitude or education/experience in general maintenance
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Willingness to learn welding and electrical skills on the job
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks independently
  • Ability to work well with others to complete projects efficiently
  • Strong communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors
  • Understanding of basic safety procedures and practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a timely manner


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment
  • Visual acuity and ability to read small print
  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment
  • Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed
  • Possession of valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle


WORKING CONDITIONS



  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
  • Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
  • Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
  • Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific)
