What to Expect

We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager (SCM) to support our responsible sourcing efforts in the battery supply chain as we accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. The SCM will proactively assess human rights and social risks in the battery supply chain and drive targeted and innovative activities toelevatesuppliersustainability performance.

The roleisin Tesla's Battery Responsible Sourcing(RS)team, whichispart oftheBatteryCellSupply Chain Management(SCM)organizationthatincludescommercial procurement and supplier industrialization engineering.The role will focus onsuppliers forour growing Energy(Megapack, Powerwall)business.

The ideal candidateis passionate about advancing sustainability in battery and critical mineral supplychains, has a strong background in human rights, andexcels in adynamicenvironment that allows them toindependently develop innovative approaches.


What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve labor standards and working conditions, including managing and analyzing social audits
  • Engage with suppliers to developaction plansanddrive improvements inworking conditions, environmentalmanagement,and corporate governance
  • Collect,analyze,andreport on complexsupply chaindata; track supplier performance using KPIs to identify trends and prioritze action
  • Perform due diligenceacross battery andcritical mineral supply chains usingthird-party platforms and other external sources
  • Present strategic risk assessments and mitigation strategies to internal stakeholders, includingcommercial supply chain managers andexecutives
  • Review supplier contracts to ensurerobustresponsible sourcing clauses areembedded
  • Conduct regular on-site supplier visits, sometimes on short notice

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Human Rights, International Relations, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in supply chain
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in tracking supplier KPIs and translating data into actionable insights
  • Familiarity with battery cell manufacturing processes, knowledge of Lithium iron phosphate(LFP)batterysupply chain is a plus
  • Understanding of relevant responsible sourcing standards, frameworks, and audit processes
  • Strong precision and attention to detail
  • Ability to excel in fast-paced, complex, and ambiguous situations
  • Ability tocommunicate clearly and effectively to foster cross-functional collaboration, including with Commercial Procurement,Trade Legal, Policy, and Engineering functions
  • Ability to travel at short notice, domestic & internationally as needed
  • The position will be required to be on-site in Palo Alto, CA

    Expected Compensation
    $104,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
