Security Officer - Experienced Unarmed Patrol

As a Security Officer - Experienced Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location supporting community services, you will conduct routine foot patrols, monitor assigned areas, manage access control and/or badge checks as needed, and document security-related activity. Your visible presence and strong communication skills help reduce incidents while delivering customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, staff, residents, and visitors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, contacting emergency services when appropriate, and coordinating with site management.
• Monitor and/or control access by observing entry points, verifying authorization as required, screening visitors according to site rules, and documenting arrivals and departures when applicable.
• Complete detailed reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activity, and communicate relevant security-related information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have a minimum of 6+ months of security experience.
• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
