Job Description:

Blockchain & Digital Asset Risk Consulting Senior Manager

Role Summary

This role will lead the design, build, and scale of operational and risk management functions for financial institutions and FinTechs operating in stablecoins, tokenized assets, and blockchain-enabled financial infrastructure. The role will bring hands-on experience supporting regulated entities through the full lifecycle of digital-asset initiatives, from concept and regulatory engagement through implementation, operation, and examination. This role sits at the intersection of regulatory credibility, operational execution, and emerging technology, and is central to Crowe's strategy to defend and advance its financial services franchise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex consulting engagements supporting stablecoin issuance, tokenized deposits, custody, settlement, and blockchain-enabled payments.
  • Advise clients on the design and launch of stablecoin programs, including governance models, reserve management, issuance/redemption controls, and disclosures.
  • Design and implement enterprise, operational, and technology risk management frameworks aligned to blockchain-based financial products.
  • Translate regulatory expectations (OCC, Federal Reserve, state regulators, global regulators where applicable) into practical, defensible operating models.
  • Build policies, procedures, control frameworks, RCSAs, and internal audit programs for digital-asset activities.
  • Support regulatory exams, supervisory feedback, and remediation efforts related to digital assets and distributed ledger technology.
  • Lead selection, assessment, and integration of third-party vendors, including custody providers, blockchain analytics platforms, transaction monitoring tools, and wallet/key management solutions.
  • Develop scalable toolkits, methodologies, and reference architectures to support repeatable delivery across Crowe's diverse practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter leader and mentor, contributing to internal capability development, thought leadership, and go-to-market initiatives.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in professional services, banking, fintech, or other regulated financial institutions.
  • Direct, hands-on experience supporting stablecoin issuance or tokenized asset initiatives, including involvement in product design, risk assessment, control implementation, or regulatory engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience working with major blockchain protocols and ecosystems such as Ethereum, Solana, or comparable public or permissioned networks.
  • Proven experience collaborating with digital-asset custody providers and infrastructure vendors, including support for due diligence, onboarding, operating model design, and ongoing risk oversight.
  • Proven leadership in building, enhancing, or operating risk management, compliance, internal audit, or control functions in regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulatory expectations and experience interacting with regulators and examiners.
  • Ability to translate complex blockchain and digital-asset concepts into clear risk, control, and governance implications for executive, board, and regulatory audiences.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting banks, trust companies, or fintechs pursuing digital-asset custody, payments, or settlement activities.
  • Prior involvement in regulatory approvals, charter applications, or supervisory remediation related to digital assets.
  • Experience developing or deploying risk, compliance, or monitoring tools specific to blockchain and digital assets.
  • Background working with professional services firms, banks, or fintechs that have launched or scaled production digital-asset offerings.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
