Job Summary: The Analyst, Payroll Tax plays a key role in ensuring accurate payroll tax compliance across all federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This position supports payroll operations, manages tax accounts and filings, resolves tax notices, and partners with internal teams to maintain accurate organizational and payroll data. The ideal candidate is analytical, detailoriented, and comfortable working in a fastpaced environment with complex tax and payroll requirements. Key Responsibilities * Conduct virtual location audits to ensure proper tax deductions are accurately withheld in payroll. * Research, resolve, and process tax code fallout within Dayforce. * Manage tax notice resolution and payments across federal, state, and local agencies. * Set up new tax accounts with state unemployment (SUI), state withholding, and local tax jurisdictions. * Prepare and submit Census Bureau and other regulatory reporting. * Identify, research, and resolve payroll tax variances. * Support quarterly and annual tax filings, including W2, W3, 940, 941, and state/local reconciliations. * Assist with yearend tax activities and audits. * Serve as a backup for payroll processing to ensure continuity of operations. * Review payroll data for accuracy related to tax withholdings, earnings, deductions, and GL coding. * Partner with HR and Payroll teams to ensure organizational structure changes are accurately reflected in Dayforce. * Support system testing of tax updates, configuration changes, and new functionality. * Maintain accurate tax configurations within Dayforce; Dayforce experience strongly preferred. * Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, and Payroll teams to ensure data integrity across systems. * Assist with GL mapping, coding, and reconciliation of payroll tax accounts. * Monitor and validate tax rate changes, system updates, and jurisdictional requirements. * Work closely with Finance to support audits, reconciliations, and variance resolution. * Communicate with state and local agencies to resolve account issues and maintain compliance. * Provide guidance to HR, Payroll, and Leaders on taxrelated questions and best practices. * Maintain documentation of tax processes, procedures, and compliance requirements. * Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline tax workflows. * Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting payroll taxes and recommend updates. * Support special projects related to payroll tax strategy, system enhancements, or organizational growth. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. * 2-5 years of payroll tax or payroll operations experience. * Strong understanding of multistate payroll tax regulations. * Experience with Dayforce or similar HCM/payroll systems preferred. * Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. * Excellent communication and organizational abilities. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
