Position Overview: Chemonics is recruiting for a Senior Director, Operations. This role serves as Senior Director of Operations to Chemonics' President of the Professional Services Business Segment and oversees the Core Division. Draws on a thorough mastery of Chemonics' operations, projects, and management practices to drive the execution of Chemonics' Professional Services strategy, ensuring the President's vision is effectively captured, communicated, and implemented. Leads design and execution of executive retreats and monthly meetings for both the broader Executive Management Team, Front Office, and Professional Services Leadership team to ensure effective decision-making and risk mitigation strategies. Monitors and informs achievement of key performance and key risk indicators to achieve goals and mitigate risks. Supervises Core Division and leadership team operations, communications function, practice support function, and cross-segment special initiatives. This role requires on-site work in our anticipated office in Arlington, VA as part of our hybrid, flexible work structure. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. - Serves as support and advisor to the President and oversees support to the Vice President for Risk and Compliance
- Co-develops and manages the execution of the business segment strategy in close collaboration with and as established by the President and other key stakeholders
- Manages executive performance management, goal-setting, and merit increases.
- Oversees the Professional Services Business Segment's processes and business flow, including but not limited to all direct forms of executive support to the President
- Oversees the development and implementation of the business segment's internal and external communications strategy, supporting the President in stakeholder engagement and communications with key partners
- Oversees effective Professional Services Leadership Team retreats and meetings, including design of retreats, agenda development, and presentation and document preparation
- Advises and manages relationships with the Professional Services Leadership Team, EMT, and front office.
- Oversees recruitment, professional development, and teambuilding for the Professional Services Leadership team to ensure consistency and effectiveness in talent management across business segment leadership
Core Division Operations and Special Initiatives
- Provides direct leadership, supervision, and oversight for the Core Division and Operations and Communications teams to ensure delivery of effective, timely, and high-quality services
- Supervises, mentors, and evaluates operations team staff, communicating clear performance goals and standards, offering regular performance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and time and opportunity to grow and develop in key competency areas
- Oversees Practice Support function, providing administrative and management support to Global Practice Leads
- Manages strategic initiatives and special projects from development through successful execution
- Participates in high-level new business roles
- Operates with discretion and maintains high levels of confidentiality
Enterprise Responsibilities
- Responsible for working with the President to ensure effective EMT Strategic Planning Retreat and monthly EMT meetings, including design, agenda development, and presentation and document preparation
- Responsible for working with the President to ensure effective Front Office Retreats and weekly Front Office meetings, including design, agenda development, facilitation, and document preparation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; masters preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience advising, managing, and supervising teams assigned to a department or several project teams
- Knowledge of Chemonics cost structure, accounting, financial, and personnel systems required
- Thorough understanding of client policies, procedures and regulations
- Strong oral, written, and verbal communication skills, including executive level communications. Strong knowledge of Chemonics editorial style
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and organizational skills, able to model maturity, dependability, integrity, initiative and discretion
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team. Able to lead effective meetings
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications; knowledge of SharePoint a plus
- Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail
- Strong quantitative, numeric, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Ability to solve complex technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
- Ability to operate at advanced levels of authority and control significant activities, budgets, and resources to produce and take responsibility for results.

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $122,100 - $152,600. An employee's pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
Overtime exemption status may change due to state regulatory requirements.
