Operations Research Analyst

The Opportunity:

As an operations analyst, you're passionate about exploring the root cause of an issue and then analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations for a creative solution. We need a research analyst like you to help us solve complex problems for our clients. On our Department of War (DoW) Analysis Agency Support team, you'll assist in the evaluation of data assessment strategies such as sampling, statistical analysis, evaluation, flow processing, and management assessment. You will also support any and all classical ORSA methodologies such as modeling, simulation and optimization, employing critical thinking and communication skills to explain your selection of the most practicable approach to help deliver solutions.

You won't go at it alone, you'll work with other DoW Agency support team members, such as data scientists, computer scientists, and logisticians and transporters to conduct research, prepare graphs and charts, and analyze and interpret programmatic or cost data such as DoW financial and transportation or logistics data . You will assist with interpreting approved DoW models and simulation results, cost-benefit analyses, and what-if analyses requested by our customers, to include data-centric economic, deployment and distribution analyses and DoD tactical, operational, and strategic support studies. Once documented, you'll help develop the program's deliverables to present results, collaborate with stakeholders, and participate in various program meetings to improve program efficiency.

In this role, you'll use your passion for analytics and statistics to help devise modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques such as linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.

Use your operations research experience to develop technologies and concepts that advance DoW deployment and distribution enterprise techniques and procedures to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of their support mission.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • Experience using programming and statistical languages, such as Python or SQL, mathematical optimization solvers, simulation software, or data visualization and business intelligence tools
  • Knowledge ORSA modeling, simulation, and optimization techniques
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience supporting DoW or federal agencies, including analytic support
  • Experience supervising teams or leading projects
  • Knowledge of current Artificial Intelligence tools and techniques
  • Ability to communicate ORSA techniques and methodology effectively to leadership
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field
  • DAWIA Level 1, 2, or 3, or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) certification

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
