| Position Summary |
UNC Horizons-Wake seeks a part-time Reentry & Recovery Court Intake and Evaluation Specialist to support expanded intake capacity across reentry and recovery court service pathways. This role is responsible for completing high-volume intakes, supporting enrollment and evaluation milestones, and strengthening referral pipelines aligned with program expansion efforts. Reentry and Recovery Court Intake and Evaluation Specialist serves as the primary intake coordinator for all Family Drug Treatment Courts (FDTCs) statewide, supporting RISE+ enrollment benchmarks, and conducts targeted outreach activities to support
GRACE enrollment milestones, leveraging new referral partnerships with reentry and recovery court personnel throughout the state. The position works collaboratively with internal teams and paraprofessional staff to ensure timely intake completion, eligibility verification, and accurate documentation, with appropriate handoff to clinical or care coordination residential and transitional housing staff following enrollment. As part of ensuring timely access to services, this role will provide limited support to referral lines outside of traditional business hours to help address access needs and facilitate timely follow-up for incoming referrals.
This position is structured as three 10-hour days per week. Specifically, the Reentry and Recovery Court Intake Specialist will:
a) Complete a minimum of 15 new participant intakes per month through external partnerships or newly developed partnerships
b) Conduct screenings and intakes for women leaving prisons or jails and women enrolled in Recovery Courts statewide (excluding Chatham, Orange, and Wake Counties).
c) Serve as the primary intake coordinator for all
FDTC referrals statewide, supporting RISE+ enrollment milestones.
d) Conduct outreach with
NCDAC transitional housing programs and other women-focused reentry initiatives to support
GRACE enrollment benchmarks, leveraging new partnerships and referral agencies (excluding
NCCIW)
e) Coordinate intake handoff to appropriate clinical or care coordination staff following enrollment.
f) Participate in the reentry and recovery court clinical meetings to inform preliminary treatment plans
g) Provide biweekly intake updates to ensure evaluation milestones
h) Engage in ethical service delivery and practices as required by all auditing bodies (certification and licensure boards,
UNC University,
UNC Horizons) |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. |
| Management Preferences |
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
* Must be knowledgeable of the impact of trauma, stigma, substance use, and incarceration among pregnant, parenting, and single women
* Must be clinically and ethically appropriate to diagnose
SUD and develop preliminary treatment plans
* Must have a valid driver's license
* Must be able to perform well during high-risk and in clinical crises situations |
