This opportunity is in the Marketing & Communications department.

The Marketing and Communications Department focuses on gaining visibility for the organization through all efforts related to brand management, corporate messaging, materials development, conference coordination, and event planning. We manage messaging and materials creation, press relations, advertising, thought leadership, national conference participation, and business partner appreciation events. Internally, we manage employee announcements and communications, large meeting planning and programming, and numerous employee-related events throughout the country. Role Description

In this role, you will set the strategic visual direction for Safety National's brand, serving as both a creative leader and people manager for a talented team of graphic design professionals. You will oversee the development of high-quality print and digital materials that effectively communicate Safety National's message across a wide range of audiences and platforms.

You will lead creative concept development, translating stakeholder needs into compelling visual solutions while ensuring brand consistency, artistic excellence, and operational efficiency. As a key liaison between internal partners and the design team, you will guide projects from intake through execution, balancing creative integrity with business objectives. You will also establish and enhance design processes, manage quality control, mentor and develop team members, and stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously elevate Safety National's visual presence.

Qualifications

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field preferred


Required Qualifications



  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.
  • 10 or more years of relevant graphic design experience
  • Proven experience in a leadership role providing strategic oversight, planning, and team management
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of print and digital design work
  • Extensive experience managing multiple high-level design projects concurrently
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
  • Strong understanding of graphic design fundamentals including layout, color, typography, and composition
  • Working knowledge of print production processes, including CMYK vs. RGB, file formats, resolutions, and large-format signage
  • Ability to communicate, influence, and guide creative vision and strategy with internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, motivate, and develop a team of design professionals


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with multimedia design including video planning, filming, and editing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience managing external vendors
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
