Onsite | Belleville, NJ | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking a Temporary Health Information Specialist to support Release of Information (ROI) services at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. This role is covering an employee on FMLA leave and is expected to last approximately two months.

This is an onsite, patient-facing position responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and HIPAA-compliant processing of medical record requests in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Provide phone support to patients, providers, and authorized requestors
    * Process Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and within required turnaround times
    * Fax, scan, and manage incoming and outgoing medical record requests
    * Burn medical images to CDs and facilitate electronic image sharing
    * Perform data entry and basic administrative support functions
    * Maintain compliance with HIPAA and facility privacy policies


Training & Onboarding
* VROI training supported
* On-the-job, onsite training provided within the first 30 days

Preferred Skill Set:
* Strong communication skills
* Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
* Computer proficiency and data entry accuracy
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Must be 18 years of age or older

Important Note
This is a temporary assignment (approximately two months) covering an FMLA leave. Temporary employees are eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) retirement savings plan according to plan requirements. However, they are not eligible for company-sponsored medical, dental, or vision coverage.

Pay ranges for this job title may differ based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other requirements of the role.

The estimated base pay range per hour for this role is:
$15.68 $19.15 USD
