Job Summary

Serves as a Senior Coordinator, Academic Success within the Office of Student Success Operations and Strategy to support university academic advising units, student success initiatives, and academic compliance projects.

  • Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, conducts targeted outreach to reduce attrition and maximize on-time graduation. Meets with students to develop a plan for progression to timely graduation.
  • Evaluates undergraduate student records to identify and submit petitions for instances of excess credit exceptions.
  • Conducts audits of non-degree applicable courses for financial aid eligibility. Reviews students petitions and communicates with students as needed to resolve issues.
  • Collaborates with partner offices to address and resolve escalated cases related to financial aid eligibility of courses.
  • Supports colleges with review of student athlete records for academic eligibility in accordance with NCAA regulations.
  • Under the direction of the Assistant Director, reviews on-time graduation status of target student populations each semester. Documents status, conducts outreach for any required interventions, and monitors student progression each semester toward on-time graduation.
  • Provides support for students in completing Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeals for financial aid eligibility.
  • Assists with other centralized projects under the direction of the Assistant Director in order to improve student academic success, streamline university processes, and enhance both the student and staff experiences.
  • Identifies potential roadblocks throughout the student journey and escalates those roadblocks to team leadership for resolution.
  • Engages in professional development to further job knowledge and skills in areas including but not limited to career and major exploration, academic advising, coaching, data analysis, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and one (1) year of appropriate experience.


Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in academic advising and/or other student service experience.
