| Position Purpose |
Under the general direction of the Sr. Associate AD for Recreation, this position manages and is responsible for the operations and personnel of the fitness programs and amenities memberships offered by the Athletics Department and Recreation.

| Description |
Under the general direction of the Sr. Associate AD for Recreation this position manages and is responsible for the operations of Lewinstein Athletic Center Gym Membership Programs, The Zimmerman Fitness Center and Boss Tennis Center. Also, and in collaboration with the Director of Recreation and Wellness Education Operations, this position manages the Lewinstein Athletics Center fitness class and personal training programs. This position will supervise one full-time position and more than 50 part-time employees in the Zimmerman Fitness Center, and the Boss Tennis Center. |

Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience |
| Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
- 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Nationally Accredited Certification in personal training and/or fitness classes (ACE, NASM, NSCA, other) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
- First Aid, CPR, AED certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Ability to manage logistical and administrative details of multiple tasks or projects.
- Ability to plan work, set priorities, and respond to pressures, deadlines, and changes in schedules and priorities.
- Demonstrates proficiency in business and management computer applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively, independently, and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work with confidential information with discretion.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Fitness Facility Management Experience.
- Previous leadership of a fitness industry program or facility.
- Previous experience in the higher education fitness and recreation space.

Key Accountabilities
| Description |
Amenities Membership Programs & Fitness Center Management
- Administers all aspects of the gym membership program including but not limited to marketing, sales, membership services and satisfaction.
- Serve as the on-site administrator for the execution of the gym membership services including but not limited membership card issuance, access coding management of the online membership platform including but not limited to the online point of sales system.
- Hire, train and manage part-time staff for both the membership services front desk and the fitness center
- Coordinate closely with the facilities staff on operations, included but not limited to building hours, pool hours, maintenance and cleanliness of facilities used by gym members.
- Forecast, plan, and manage the annual budget for membership programs and the fitness staff including but not limited to part-time personnel cost, gym/fitness equipment maintenance and replacement and other needs.
- Manage fitness center equipment care, service and maintenance; including managing the maintenance service contract.
- Maintains First Aid/CPR/AED certification, manages safety and risk management in the operations of the fitness center and amenities membership programs.

- Supervises the full-time manager of the indoor tennis center.
- Provides oversight and guidance on indoor tennis center operations including memberships and all programming.
- Responsible for supporting indoor tennis center marketing, sales, membership services and satisfaction including oversight of membership card issuance, access coding management of the online membership platform including the online point of sales system.
- Provides guidance and programming and services offered to the indoor tennis center Manager.
- Collaborates with indoor tennis center on forecasting, planning and managing the annual budget for the indoor tennis center including but not limited to part-time personnel cost, equipment for sale, facility maintenance and equipment replacement and other needs.

| Description |
Fitness Classes and Personal Training Program Management
- Manage the Fitness Classes and Personal Training Programs.
- Determine Fitness Class offerings and schedules to meet the wellness needs of Dartmouth's diverse constituencies in collaboration with the Director of Recreation and Wellness Education Operations.
- Forecast, plan and manage the annual budget for fitness classes and personal training programs including but not limited to part-time personnel cost, class fitness equipment and other needs.

Administration
