Position Summary

In this role, you'll take the lead on larger and more complex customer projects, reviewing technical drawings and preparing accurate quotations that align with Latitude's business model. You'll work closely with Commercial and Aerospace & Defense Sales Engineers to support customer needs and help drive successful programs.

You'll play a key role in ensuring product profitability by reviewing job travelers, validating processing times, and updating pricing as material and labor costs change. You'll also have the opportunity to work directly with customers to discuss product manufacturability and quotation details.

Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • * Review customer drawings and technical requirements; clarify details with customers as needed
  • * Collaborate with Production, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering to support accurate quotations
  • * Prepare and deliver customer quotes; resolve differences between quoted and actual orders
  • * Maintain customer requirements and documentation in the ERP system
  • * Monitor product profitability by reviewing actual costs versus quotes and recommending pricing or process adjustments
  • * Update pricing based on changes to materials, labor, or product requirements and communicate impacts internally
  • * Identify tooling, equipment, or fixture needs for new or modified products and evaluate cost impact
  • * Lead contract review upon order receipt to ensure smooth handoff to Engineering or Production
  • * Support Product Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales with technical interpretation, material pricing, and cost analysis
  • * Identify follow-on and new product opportunities with existing customers
  • * Participate in continuous improvement efforts, market research, and special projects as assigned
  • * Strong attention to detail, teamwork mindset, and commitment to safety and quality
  • * Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to set a positive example across teams


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Ability to work directly with customers to interpret drawings and assess manufacturing feasibility
  • Strong understanding of machining and metal fabrication processes
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide guidance and collaborate across departments


Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field with 5-10 years of Sales Engineering experience, or
  • Equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of relevant Sales Engineering experience
