Seagate's Product Assurance Engineering (PAE) and Material Science Engineering and Contamination Teams are part of the Global Quality function and are responsible for the verification and validation of products in Seagate's HDD, SSD, and Systems portfolios. Seagate is seeking a high-energy, collaborative Chemical or Material Science Engineering intern for a position at our facility in Longmont, Colorado. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with partners across the U.S. and Asia to evaluate new and existing analytical techniques and materials, ensuring we deliver the highestquality components to our customers. This position will work with Reliability, Product Design Engineering, product development teams, and factory personnel to validate materials and analytical test processes are suitable for volume manufacturing and align with our long-term reliability targets.

About the role - you will:

  • Work with method developers to validate a new Chemistry measurement system.
  • Assist in efforts to transition analyses from laboratory to Factory scale - including interfacing with Chemists in our Factory locations.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on design of experiment (DOE) creation and analysis.
  • Assist in data analysis using analytical software, AI/ML, and database concepts.

Your experience includes:

  • Experience working in a lab environment
  • Ability to learn how to write engineering reports and presentations
  • Currently pursuing a BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science Engineering

The estimated base wage range for this position is $22 - $29/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
