| Position Description: |
The School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Iowa seeks to hire a visiting faculty member specializing in event management. This position is a one-year, renewable appointment with full benefits starting August 19, 2026. This position involves teaching 4 courses per semester in the Event Management Certificate curriculum. We are seeking applicants with substantial professional experience in event management. Possible areas of specialization include, but are not limited to: crisis management, venue management, event marketing, sustainable events, project management, event implementation, festivals, and conferences. - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

- Significant (5 or more years) professional experience in the event management field.

- Teaching experience at the university level.
- Experience working with college-level interns.
- Professional leadership experience.
- Master's degree in a related discipline.
