Nurse Manager - Medical Nursing Pulmonary Unit (4S) - Full Time Days
General Summary: * Administrative accountability for leading, managing, developing, supervising, and evaluating all aspects of patient care. * Manages and collaborates relationships with leadership members, physicians, for the care of responsible patient populations. * Assures professional, clinical, and educational excellence in the provision of quality care to patients. * Facilitates empowerment of staff in the implementation of creative and innovative patient care delivery models and stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services. * Assumes responsibility for fiscal management of the unit. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in nursing, Business, Health Management or another related field preferred. * ANCC recognized nursing specialty certification preferred. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting required. * Demonstration of progressive nursing leadership in roles for example Charge Nurse, Assistant Clinical Manager, House Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Unit Leader and Chairperson of a Shared Governance Council/Committee or interdisciplinary team (not limited to these examples). * Knowledge of quality management and service excellence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills that provide coaching and facilitation expertise. Excellent problem-solving skills. * Demonstrates innovative, creative leadership style. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES: * Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse. BCLS/ACLS certification as required per unit standards. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: * Working conditions are variable with exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards. * Driving may be required dependent on specialty. * Frequent walking, bending, and lifting may be required to perform duties. ADDITIONAL SKILLS: * Strong leader with good organizational skills, able to work independently in busy environment. * 24/7 accountability for unit. Additional Information
