The role of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Commercial business division is broad in scope and accountability. The primary responsibility is to ensure achievement of the business unit's strategic financial objectives, which include product line profitability, segment performance and company-level capital adequacy. Direct accountabilities within that scope include strategic planning, customer volume, product pricing, financial planning, key performance indicator management, administrative cost structure management, capital expenditure oversight and medical expense and network analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
* Identifies, recommends, and drives the implementation of new, expanded, and/or integration of business models, concepts, capabilities, and/or opportunities to enhance the value of commercial market programs/business and its contribution to the GuideWell Enterprise
* Leads the organization, coordination, implementation, and communication of comprehensive strategic and financial performance review processes, reporting vehicles, forecasting and performance management processes, product pricing and financial analyses for the Commercial business to ensure strategic goals and objectives are attained.
* Drives and advances creative/innovative thinking in partnership with finance leadership and business partners throughout Commercial Markets (and the Enterprise) to formulate and implement long-range and short-term strategies, plans, and solutions that align and contribute to the Enterprise's mission, goals and objectives
* Collaborates with Enterprise Corporate Investment Team to drive, support, and accelerate M&A related opportunities
* Partners with business leaders and their teams to optimize revenue opportunities, effectively manage cost structures, and continuously drive improvements in financial performance and business results
* Consults with, and advises Commercial business P&L leaders and enterprise leaders to ensure plans, progress, and results are aligned with, and support Enterprise strategies, plans, and expectations
* Serves as financial leader for Commercial business for resolving financial issues, ensuring financial compliance, mitigating financial risk, and safeguarding its assets
* Ensures that effective financial stewardship, controllership, financial compliance, and reporting processes and capabilities exist across the business
* Develops and effectively communicates complex data, trends, financial models, recommendations, and reports to a wide range of audiences including Enterprise leadership to gain alignment and support planning and decision making
* Serves as key senior leader in the Commercial P&L business who professionally represents the GuideWell Enterprise, advances its Values, and contributes to a high performing culture and positive work environment for all employees

Key Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial or related field or additional related work experience
* 10+ years' related work experience in financial leadership, preferably in the health insurance industry, with a focus on commercial business operations
* 5+ years' direct supervisory/management experience
* Knowledge of, and experience in the health/healthcare industry
* Demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility in finance with a broad range of skills to include financial and strategic analysis and decision making, capital deployment modeling and analysis, pricing strategies, oversight and stewardship, and business growth strategies
* Demonstrated experience at a senior/executive level developing and executing transformational, strategic, and operational growth plans with a strong track record of working closely with executive level leadership teams to develop, evaluate, shape, advance and execute strategy, new business opportunities, and models
* Broad executive level thinker with the ability to relate business strategy and trends to company level strategy, operational realities, and future growth opportunities; collaborative leadership style with a deep appreciation for teamwork, and the ability to effectively manage and influence in a highly matrixed organization and with internal and external partners
* Commitment to demonstrating the highest standard of ethical conduct and integrity; willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development
* Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, build, and retain high performing talent; excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred:
* MBA, CFA, CPA
* Fellow of the Society of Actuaries

General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
