OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY JOB DESCRIPTION

TMZ is seeking a Web Producer / Website Writer to produce real-time trending news content, breaking news stories, in-depth features, and affiliate marketing articles to support our e-commerce business. Proven experience sourcing, pitching, and writing trending news is a requirement, in addition to familiarity with tracking audience engagement and digital performance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at the speed of a breaking news desk, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and sound judgement. Experience with feature storytelling and revenue-driven affiliate content is essential, along with the ability to adapt tone and structure across multiple content formats.

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily copy for the website, covering stories on a variety of topics including trending news, breaking news, and e-commerce content
• Contribute to the daily editorial process
• Optimize headlines, subheads, and metadata to improve search performance without sacrificing voice or clarity
• Monitor performance and track core KPIs
• Monitor and refresh existing evergreen content as needed to keep it accurate and ranking
• Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• 2-4 years' experience working in a web/online creative content role, preferred
• Background in writing, news and copy editing
• Legal writing knowledge is a plus
• Must have the ability to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities, heavy deadlines, and daily time constraints

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $75,000.00-85,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
