ABOUT THE JOB

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a Supervisor Registered Nurse, Ambulatory Clinic. This is a full-time position working 80 hours per pay period. This position is directly responsible to the Clinic Manager to provide leadership and support for clinical and administrative duties. This includes but is not limited to project support, clinical perspective with project involvement, administrative support and oversight of scheduling, audits, quality measures, policy and procedure, and direct patient care as needed. This position works collaboratively with other nursing and management staff to ensure compliance with established standards and continuity of quality patient care. This position ensures the safety and efficiency of patient care. This position provides continuity of leadership and is responsible for the evaluation and prioritization of activities to meet the demands of an unpredictable, multifaceted department daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of assigned staff. Conducts performance reviews, provides coaching and the first level of discipline, maintains and fosters open lines of communication between clinic staff, medical staff, ancillary staff and administration, fosters teamwork among staff, seeks to enhance performance of all team members, assists with developing policies and procedures and administers them fairly, maintains awareness of industry changes, maintains a professional working atmosphere within the department and responsible for onboarding new staff and ongoing training.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the department. Assess, plan and implement care of patients as needed, collaborate with medical care providers regularly or as needed, maintain staffing levels and patient assignments to assure safe care, assure that clinical quality measures are achieved and provide feedback, direction and mentoring to staff, develop working knowledge and accountability for regulatory readiness and lead staff through continual process improvement and high reliability, review, investigate and follow up on patient relations concerns
  • Perform role as outlined in the Registered Nurse, Clinic job description when necessary to augment clinic staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with other health care team members and across the organization. Collaborate and consult with clinicians and health care team regarding patient's plan of care, delegate, supervise and partner with RN and clinical support staff to implement plan of care, address conflict in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain and update clinical knowledge including certification(s) as appropriate. Remain up to date with new information, policies and procedures, complete annual required education, be knowledgeable of emergency procedures, maintain up to date clinical expertise in nursing specialty.
  • Other duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Five to seven years of clinical nursing experience
  • Maintain a current Minnesota registered nurse's licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at hire
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and/or techniques, knowledge of principles of management and change process, excellent communication skills with the ability and desire to develop effective working relationships within and outside of departments supervised.
