We are excited to launch another Student Nurse Internship Program for Summer 2026!

We are excited to kick off our 2026 Student Nurse Summer Intern Program, offered to Nursing students entering their Senior Year. This is a paid intern program that provides nursing students with a combination of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting, along with educational sessions.

This is a great opportunity to gain nursing experience, and to learn about nursing career paths offered by Lowell General Hospital. Upon graduation you are eligible to apply to our Nurse Residency Program. This new grad program is accredited as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.

To be considered for the 2026 Student Nurse Summer Intern Program you must complete an online application, attach your resume, and cover letter listing your top area of interest

We are offering placements in Medical Surgical, Stepdown/Intermediate Care, Surgical Services, and Emergency Departments for this session.

Timeline:

  • Applications will be accepted starting February 13, 2026
  • Interviews will be scheduled during the weeks of 3/24/26 and 3/31/2026
  • Decisions will be made on a rolling basis, with final offers starting 4/6/2026

The program will formally start on June 8th and will run through August 14th

Qualifications:

  • Current employee of Tufts| Lowell General Hospital receive first consideration
  • Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program and entering senior year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
