Job Summary and Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all operational activities related to a medical bill processing contract. This role ensures the efficient, compliant, and highquality processing of medical bills in accordance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards. The manager provides strategic guidance, operational oversight, and strong team leadership to support service delivery and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the endtoend medical bill processing workflow, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and contractual requirements
  • Monitor daily operations, manage workload distribution, and ensure consistent achievement of performance metrics and KPIs
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes, internal controls, and compliance monitoring protocols
  • Identify operational gaps, analyze trends, and execute process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance
  • Lead a multidisciplinary operational team, establishing clear performance expectations and fostering a highperformance culture
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development to staff, encouraging growth and supporting continuous learning
  • Conduct performance evaluations, oversee workforce planning, and participate in recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture that prioritizes customer service and operational excellence
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison to internal leadership and the client, ensuring clarity in communication and alignment on priorities
  • Prepare and deliver operational reports, performance dashboards, and updates related to metrics, issues, and improvement initiatives
  • Address and resolve escalated issues promptly while maintaining positive client relationships and contract satisfaction
  • Ensure all operational activities align with contractual requirements, servicelevel agreements, and audit standards
  • Support readiness for internal and external audits and lead corrective action efforts as needed
  • Maintain documentation, reporting, and operational workflows required for regulatory and contractual compliance

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or a High School/GED plus 6+ years of additional experience in lieu of degree
  • 3+ years' experience as an operations Manager (or equivalent) performing services of similar scope and size
  • Domain knowledge of Medicare Medicaid or healthcare verticals
  • General understanding of role-relevant issues and trends Ability to manage people projects and processes
  • Strong understanding of project management skills and ability to create and manage project plans
  • Ability to meet and enforce deadlines to conduct research into technology issues and products and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects
  • Strong problem-solving analytical and evaluative skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal written facilitation) with strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Able to work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Self-motivated with ability to balance multiple projects under minimal to no supervision Strong presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or other nationally recognized technical or PM certification is preferred
