Job Summary

Acentra Health is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Clinical Supervisor to join our growing team and play a critical leadership role supporting high-impact clinical review operations. In this position, you will provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to nurse reviewers, ensuring prior authorization and clinical review activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with contract requirements.

The Clinical Supervisor partners closely with operational and clinical leadership to drive performance, maintain quality standards, and support successful delivery of program objectives within established budgetary parameters.This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful work that directly supports patient outcomes while contributing to a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely completion of all clinical review case types in accordance with contractual requirements and established service-level expectations.

  • Monitor and manage daily workload volumes and review queues; proactively adjust staffing assignments and schedules to meet operational demands and maintain productivity targets.

  • Analyze reviewer productivity, performance trends, and workflow efficiency to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Identify onboarding, training, and ongoing development needs; partner with Operations leadership to design and implement targeted learning and development plans.

  • Lead quality monitoring initiatives, including quarterly audits, Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs), inter-rater reliability (IRR) activities, and database oversight to drive process enhancements and compliance.

  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical review processes, regulatory requirements, and best practices; serve as a primary resource for nurse reviewers regarding workflow guidance, clinical questions, and escalation support.

  • Act as a key liaison for provider relations, addressing customer service concerns, resolving issues professionally, and fostering strong external partnerships.

  • Support operational needs by performing clinical reviews as required to maintain workflow continuity and meet program deliverables

  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Must hold an active, unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, (LCPC ) license in the State of Maine.

  • Minimum of 1 or 2 years of supervisory experience required, along with at least 2 + years of utilization review, prior authorization, or clinical review experience.
  • Minimum of 2 + years of experience in medical record documentation, chart auditing, and supervising clinical business operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing workloads, prioritizing assignments, and supporting operational efficiency within a fast-paced clinical review environment.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop teams, drive performance results, conduct performance evaluations, and participating in the interview and hiring process.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with providers, peers, and cross funtional stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a collaborative leadership approach.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) required, along with experience working with healthcare systems and software applications in a Windows-based environment.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is $85,088.00 - $95,000.00 annual base salary

Based on our compensation program, an applicant's position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
