Psychiatric Emergency Clinician 3- Job Responsibilities:

  • The Psych Emergency Clinician 3 serves as a clinical leader, using an integrated approach toward patient outcomes and maintains therapeutic milieu to provide safe environment for crisis stabilization.
  • Provides psychiatric consults to assess and diagnose mental health and/or substance use disorders as well as providing risk assessments.
  • May provide a range of brief therapeutic interventions including, group programming, individual crisis therapy, family support sessions and behavioral interventions to assist the patient in achieving the goals and objectives for stabilization.
  • Provides care coordination to ensure the patient and family receive and are referred to appropriate resources to optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Supports in operational workflow of the team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Health-related field. Experience: 3 years' experience, 2 of which are post licensure, working in the psychiatric or mental health field with the seriously mentally ill
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support required within 3months of hire
    • Vistelar de-escalation certifications required within 6 Months of hire
    • Approved Clinical Supervisor Certification within 3 Months
  • License: one of the following required upon start:
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC),
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT),
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW),
    • Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP),
    • Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • experience in the ED and/or Emergency Services/CSB
