As our Executive Director, you will execute high-level strategies to secure major/principal gifts with a focus on endowed chairs and program expansion; provide comprehensive oversight to our major and annual giving teams, to include driving ambitious results for our Leadership, Reunion and Young Alumni giving programs; work collaboratively to align donor passions with Anderson's strategic priorities and directly manage a premier portfolio of prospects and donors. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications* Minimum of seven years of experience and progressive responsibility as a professional development officer or similar professional experience in a nonprofit, membership/volunteer driven or another related environment. (Required) Progressively responsible experience in the design, implementation and management of complex development or comparable programs including the ability to envision and articulate future direction. (Required) Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful cultivation and solicitation strategies and soliciting high-level major gifts and /or prior experience with solicitations of a similar nature, level and complexity. (Required) Demonstrated management and leadership experience and skills to supervise fundraising officers as well as other professional and support staff. (Required) Experience conceptualizing, planning and implementing special events. (Required) Prior experience in a capital campaign setting. (Preferred) Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of major gift fundraising in a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity. (Required) Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful relationships with prospects, volunteers, board members, senior academic leadership, high-level staff campus-wide and other development staff toward the accomplishment of fundraising goals. (Required) Strong ability to recruit, orient, train, organize, motivate and evaluate volunteers and staff who support development goals and programs. (Required) Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to exercise initiative, establish priorities, manage multiple tasks and multi-phase projects simultaneously from inception to completion and fulfill work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. (Required) Ability to persuasively communication UCLA's fundraising goals and the specific priorities of the UCLA Anderson School of management; equal ability to listen perceptively and convey awareness and sensitivity. (Required) Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce business correspondence, solicitation materials, appropriate letters of acknowledgement, proposals to individuals, corporations and foundations, and reports. (Required) Effective verbal communication skills to make persuasive oral presentations to senior management and internal/external constituencies and conduct participatory meetings; ability to gain acceptance of decisions and advise and collaborate with others. (Required) Impeccable integrity and discretion in dealing with donors, alumni, students, administrators and colleagues as well as confidential information. (Required) Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of applications is required as is familiarity with other applications, programs and databases as needed with a willingness to learn new technologies. (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed. (Required) Ability to travel as needed.
