What you will accomplish as a Technical Project Lead at TAPCO:

The Technical Project Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of technology-driven projects by coordinating cross-functional activities, managing execution dependencies, and maintaining clear communication across teams. This role ensures alignment between technical efforts and business priorities through structured planning, tracking, and stakeholder coordination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning, execution, and delivery of system-level technical programs with a focus on execution visibility, cross-functional alignment, and risk management (not technical decision-making or requirements ownership).
  • Build and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependency tracking based on approved scope and inputs from Systems Engineering and Product Management.
  • Ensure accurate project tracking and transparent communication by maintaining data integrity and timely updates within the project management system.
  • Coordinate execution across systems engineering, hardware, firmware, QA, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams; identify risks, issues, and dependency conflicts and escalate to Systems Engineering leadership as needed.
  • Prepare and communicate clear status reports, risk summaries, and execution forecasts; ensure changes to scope, priorities, or schedules are reviewed and approved by appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support resource planning and workload visibility with functional managers; track engineering deliverables, testing activities, and documentation milestones to support reviews, releases, and production readiness.
  • Ensure project decisions, documentation, and execution artifacts are captured and accessible, without owning technical content or quality.
  • Organize and coordinate internal training by identifying needs, aligning content with engineering and product inputs, and ensuring delivery to service, manufacturing, product, and sales teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience and Knowledge/ Skills/Ability:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or technical project management
  • Expert proficiency with project management tools to build, maintain, and report on schedules, dependencies, risks, and execution status.
  • Strong understanding of new product development and stage gate processes, including planning, execution, reviews, and release readiness.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex, cross functional technical programs and maintain execution discipline.
  • Ability to identify execution risks, gaps, and blockers to escalate issues effectively.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with technical and non technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain structure, accuracy, and urgency in a fast paced technical environment.
